Rooftop Heat Pumps

A rooftop heat pump is a self-contained HVAC system installed on the roof of a building. It provides both heating and cooling by transferring heat between indoor and outdoor air, much like other heat pumps—but with a key difference in placement and application.

Commonly used in commercial buildings, retail spaces, and multi-unit properties, rooftop heat pumps are an efficient solution that saves interior space and simplifies system access for maintenance.

In cooling mode, the unit extracts heat from the indoor air and expels it outside. In heating mode, it reverses the process, drawing heat from the outdoor air and transferring it inside. All components—compressor, coils, fan, and controls—are housed in a single package unit mounted on the roof.
