A heat pump hybrid system combines an electric heat pump with a high efficiency gas or oil furnace. With a two fuel system you can optimize your energy use by switching back and forth to the most efficient system. The system uses the heat pump in moderate temperatures. When the temperature drops, the system automatically switches to the gas furnace.
